Serving Families' Legal Needs throughout Central Florida

My name is Carmelina Marin. At The Marin Law Firm, P.A., in Orlando, I work closely with men and women throughout Orange County and the surrounding areas who need compassionate, caring and experienced counsel in legal matters that affect families. My practice includes divorce, family law, personal bankruptcy, criminal defense, and immigration issues. I provide dedicated representation for all types of families, particularly those in the immigrant community. Contact me to discuss your legal concerns.

My law practice includes:

Divorce and Family Law

I handle divorce and in all types of family law issues and disputes, including:

  • child custody and visitation
  • child support (both award and enforcement issues)
  • spousal support ("alimony")
  • marital property division
  • legal paternity, custody, visitation and child support
  • requests for modification of existing child support, alimony, child custody or visitation orders
  • domestic violence and protective orders, including VAWA immigration assistance

Personal Bankruptcy

I counsel and represent people who need to file Chapter 7 or Chapter 13 consumer bankruptcy in order to prevent home foreclosure or limit the damage of foreclosure to their credit, stop creditor harassment, and obtain debt relief.

Criminal Defense

As a former assistant public defender, I have extensive experience defending people in criminal cases. I defend people who are charged with state or federal crimes in Florida—from traffic tickets and misdemeanors to major felonies. I handle DUI charges and DMV driver's license suspension hearings, theft and property offenses, drug charges, violent crimes, juvenile cases, grand jury cases, and probation or parole violations.

Immigration Issues

I work with men and women throughout central Florida who need to change their immigration status, whether from visa holder to green card status or from permanent resident status to citizenship. I do more than fill out the forms-I provide guidance in all of the related issues, such as those involving criminal or family law, that could impact your immigration application.

A member of the Florida Bar Association, the Orange County Bar Association, and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, I am licensed to practice in Florida state and federal courts.
